The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with autism and ADHD across the curriculum.
- Help the pupil access learning, manage routines and transitions, stay engaged in lessons, and break tasks into smaller, manageable steps, while feeding back clearly to teachers and the SENCO.
The Candidate
- Calm, observant, and able to build trust through consistency and clear communication.
- Desire for practical school-based experience, patience in a busy secondary setting, and eagerness to support a young person with additional needs in a structured mainstream environment.
Requirements
- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- A desire to train as a teacher or pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.
