The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. Grace Eyre Active Lives provides a large range of day activities for people with learning disabilities and/or autism from our space in Brighton. These activities support people’s creativity, wellbeing, health, learning and development. Grace Eyre offers a ‘Singing and Music’ activity for the people we support. We are looking for an experienced, professional musician to lead on this session. This successful candidate will help people improve skills, try new things and create connections together through creativity.

Brief outline of the role

Grace Eyre is looking to recruit experienced freelance tutors who are experienced and confident in music performance, singing, music production and recording. We also require the tutor to have some experience in delivering support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism. The successful candidate will plan sessions to support progression; resulting in the production of (at least) one unique performance every 3-6 months. Good organisational and teamwork skills are required as you will be working with support workers, managers and families & carers to ensure the performances are of a high standard. You will be working with our Digital Media Manager, e.g. to ensure that you have the support you need, develop various project briefs and ensure these performances are filmed and celebrated.

You will work closely with the Active Lives Managers and receive a clear induction and regular support. If you would like an informal chat about the role, please contact Grace Eyre and ask to speak to Max Phillips, Digital Media and Performance Service Manager.
