Fixed term maternity cover. Boston Spa Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague to the role of Teacher of History & EPR. This role is of great importance to our work as an academy in ensuring that children can achieve their full educational potential in EPR and History. Required for September 2026. This is a one-year temporary position.

The Ideal Applicant Will Have:

  • A good honours degree related to History or EPR and qualified teacher status (or currently an ITT/GTP trainee).
  • Detailed knowledge of current developments in education, including the use of the Pupil Premium.
  • A passion for education and making a difference.

The majority of our students choose to remain at our own sixth form provision, Elliott Hudson College Boston Spa.

Our recent Ofsted inspection graded the academy as “Outstanding”, with comments that staff feel valued and proud to be members of the school. Leaders are highly supportive and proactively seek to manage workload and support the well-being of staff. Our professional body also benefits from outstanding CPD and support that is personalised to each staff member’s needs and experience.
