Required for September 2026, Boston Spa Academy is seeking an inspirational and committed colleague for the role of Level 2 Teaching Assistant (SEND). This role is vital and offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated SEND team, under the direction of the SENDCo/Assistant Principal of SEND, to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

The role involves undertaking work, care and support programmes to enable access to learning, working with individuals and small groups, and supporting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

We Are Looking For a Colleague Who:

  • Is committed to inclusion and ensuring all pupils can achieve and succeed
  • Has the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Is adaptable, patient and able to respond to a range of pupil needs
  • Has a passion for supporting pupils with SEND and promoting independence

The Ideal Applicant Will Have Either:

  • Completed a DfES Teacher Assistant Induction Programme
  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants
  • Relevant qualifications or experience of working within a classroom environment

Experience of supporting pupils with SEND, or knowledge of strategies to support a range of additional needs, would be advantageous.
