We are seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our Retail Team at Goodwood. Reporting to the Retail General Manager, you will be responsible for managing and driving retail operations across the Estate’s on-site retail outlets and event pop-up stores. This is a highly operational role, focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences, maximising sales opportunities and ensuring retail performance is delivered in line with budget. You will play a key role in planning, setting up and delivering retail operations for Goodwood’s major events.
Key Responsibilities
- Retail & Event Operations
- Manage Goodwood’s day-to-day retail operations across permanent and temporary retail outlets
- Plan, organise and deliver the set‑up and breakdown of all retail stores and pop‑ups for Goodwood events
- Ensure the highest standards of luxury brand presentation across all retail stores and displays
- Develop and manage retail event CPAs and support post‑event reviews and 360 business reporting
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to support the successful delivery of event retail
- People Management
- Line manage the Retail Administration Assistant, Warehouse Operative and Stock Supervisor
- Recruit, train and manage retail event staff
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and mentor others within the team
- Stock, Systems & Administration
- Oversee stock control, stock movement and stock‑taking processes, identifying slow‑moving or low‑stock items
- Ensure all purchase orders and invoicing are processed accurately and on time
- Support warehouse operations, ensuring online orders are packed and dispatched daily with correct documentation
- Manage tills, cashing up, floats and reporting during events
- General
- Maintain a proactive, organised and professional approach across all responsibilities
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider Retail Team

Skills & Experience
- Proven retail experience to Area Manager level in a fast‑paced environment, ideally within an apparel or fashion brand
- Experience managing large retail teams
- Event retail or event management experience (desirable)
- Excellent visual merchandising skills
- Strong working knowledge of retail systems, Excel and Word
- Full, clean driving licence and access to reliable transport
- Able to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Goodwood Estate
