About the Role

As one of our Gardeners, you’ll play a key part in maintaining both public-facing and behind-the-scenes garden areas across Goodwood’s hospitality spaces. You\’ll help ensure our grounds look exceptional all year round, while contributing to the magic of our world-class events.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take pride in keeping our gardens and grounds looking their best through tasks including:

  • Maintaining gardens in line with Goodwood’s standards and guidelines
  • Mowing, strimming, weeding, planting, pruning, watering, turfing, hedge cutting and general grounds care
  • Assisting with event preparations across the Estate – no two days are the same!
  • Working flexibly around changing schedules to support our guests and customers
  • Carrying out any additional duties reasonably requested by your manager or supervisor

What You Need to Be Successful

Essential experience & skills:

  • Proven experience in garden maintenance, such as mowing, strimming, caring for flower borders and general groundskeeping
  • Basic gardening and groundskeeping knowledge
  • Competency in plant identification, with a willingness to develop further

Desirable (but not essential):

  • PA1 and PA6 spray certificates
  • Experience with hedge cutting, nursery work, ride-on mowers or tractor driving
