The Goodinge Group Practice is a hub for the community, dedicated to delivering patient-centred care. We are a forward-thinking and busy training practice, with a diverse and committed team, and a proactive member of the Primary Care Network.
We are looking for an experienced receptionist, who is proactive, energetic, and flexible to join our reception team.
Main duties of the jobAs a receptionist, you are the face of the Goodinge Group Practice, supporting patients with appointments, queries, and requests, either in person, over the phone, by email, or via other online platforms. Being a confident and strong communicator is essential, and you also need to have empathy, patience, and be adaptable. You will be working with a strong and dedicated team, so have a good support network around you, but it is important that you also have the ability to work independently, as the workload is varied with reception and administrative tasks.
Prior experience working in a GP surgery is required; however, training will be given to the right candidate, and the ability to navigate around various GP IT programmes is essential.

Job responsibilitiesThe role of a receptionist is a varied one, so being energetic and adaptable is a must. The responsibilities are:
- Meet & Greet patients, visitors, and third parties.
- Assist patients and third parties with appointments, referrals, queries, and requests in a polite, professional, and timely manner.
- Answering telephone calls and responding to emails and communications via various formats.
- Support both non-clinical and clinical colleagues (GPs, Nurses, PAs, and HCAs).
- Focusing and accuracy is essential. A full job description will be given to the successful candidate.
Experience working within a GP practice or another healthcare sector is essential due to the complex nature of the role. We would prefer an individual with experience using EMIS Web, Accurx, Docman, Footfall and other NHS and GP IT systems.
