Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable part-time cleaner to join our team, supporting both commercial and domestic workloads. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across various premises including offices, stairwells, leisure club areas and occasionally homes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe and welcoming environment while developing valuable skills in cleaning and customer service.
Important: This role requires consistent early morning starts, including weekends so applicants must be comfortable working reliably from the beginning of the day since several sites must be fully cleaned before staff and customers arrive.
Key duties
- Early morning cleaning of offices, corridor, stairwells and leisure club areas
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard using clear checklists
- Safe use of equipment and products
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any issues promptly
- Occasional domestic home cleaning
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding specific cleaning requirements or concerns
- Assist with organising cleaning schedules and prioritising tasks based on client needs
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified promptly during cleaning activities
Requirements
- Reliable, self-motivated person with strong attention to detail
- Someone who is absolutely dependable for early morning starts
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service orientation with a professional attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately
- Willingness to take extra hours when available (covering sickness at short notice/holidays)
