About The Good Golf Company

The Good Golf Company (TGGC) is a fast-growing acquisition and operations platform focused on acquiring freehold golf clubs across the United Kingdom, refurbishing them, and turning them into well-run, financially sustainable venues. We are not a traditional golf operator — we move quickly, think commercially, and measure everything. We have recently completed our first acquisitions — Walmersley Golf Club in Greater Manchester and Wanstead Golf Club — and have an active pipeline of further clubs in various stages of due diligence. Our model is simple: acquire underperforming clubs, fix the fundamentals, grow revenues and memberships, and hold quality freehold assets. This is the right moment to join. The platform is being built in real time and this role will help shape how it operates at scale.

The Role

This is a senior operational leadership position with direct accountability for the day-to-day running of a growing portfolio of golf clubs. The Group Club Operations Manager will be the bridge between board-level strategy and club-level execution — translating TGGC's vision into operational reality across multiple sites simultaneously. The successful candidate will inherit clubs that are underperforming and be expected to leave them materially better. They will build and manage club management teams, own the P&L at group level, and drive revenue and membership growth across the portfolio. This role reports directly to the COO and the Board, with performance that is visible, measurable, and rewarded accordingly. The ideal candidate has spent years making multi-site leisure or golf operations work and knows there is a better, faster, more commercial way to do it. This is the opportunity to prove it.

Core Responsibilities

  • Overall operational leadership of TGGC's club portfolio — currently two clubs and growing, with full accountability for day-to-day performance across all sites
  • Direct line management of individual club managers at each site, with responsibility for hiring, developing, and holding to account the management teams across the group
  • P&L ownership at group level — reviewing and driving performance against monthly management accounts, identifying and acting on variances
  • Revenue growth across all channels — membership, green fees, F&B, corporate, pro shop, and academy — with clear targets and personal accountability for delivery
  • Membership strategy and growth — setting and driving membership targets at each club, overseeing pricing, retention, and the member experience
  • Course and facility standards

Performance Measures

This role carries genuine accountability. Performance will be assessed against the following metrics, reviewed monthly at board level:

  • Revenue Growth - Total revenue growth across the portfolio year-on-year, broken down by club and by channel
  • Membership Growth - Net membership growth at each club — new joiners, retention rate, and average membership yield, working closely with sales and marketing.
  • Club P&L Performance - EBITDA margin and P&L performance against budget at each club and across the group
  • Member Satisfaction - Member NPS and satisfaction scores across each club, with clear improvement targets
  • Integration Delivery - Speed and quality of new club integrations against the TGGC 100-day playbook
  • Team Performance - Stability, quality, and development of club management teams across the portfolio

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Multi-site operational management — experience running at least 3 golf clubs or leisure venues simultaneously
  • Full P&L accountability at group or regional level
  • Proven track record of driving membership or revenue growth in a leisure or golf environment
  • Direct line management of site-level management teams
  • Experience in golf club operations, either directly or in adjacent leisure and hospitality
  • Strong financial literacy — comfortable with budgets, forecasts, and management accounts
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the UK portfolio

Character and Approach:

  • Commercially minded — thinks in revenue and margin, not just activity
  • Fast and decisive — does not wait for permission to act on problems or opportunities
  • Strong people manager — builds good teams and holds them accountable without micromanaging
  • Hands-on where needed — not precious about getting involved at site level
  • Clear communicator — confident presenting to a board and equally comfortable on the floor of a clubhouse
  • Resilient — comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a high-growth business
  • Genuinely passionate about golf and what well-run clubs look like

The ideal candidate profile is a regional or area manager from a multi-site golf or leisure operator — for example David Lloyd, a hospitality chain, Clubhaus, or a PGA-affiliated multi-club group — who is looking for the ownership and upside that a high-growth platform can offer.

Why Join TGGC

TGGC is at the beginning of something significant. We are building the most active acquirer of freehold golf clubs in the UK, backed by real capital and a genuine passion for the sport. This role will grow materially as the portfolio grows. The person we hire now will have shaped the operating model, built the culture, and created the template by the time we have ten clubs in the portfolio. That is a genuinely rare career opportunity in golf. We move fast, we are honest about what we do not yet know, and we back the right people properly — with compensation, autonomy, and equity participation for those who earn it.
