We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
The Golden Pheasant Inn, Burford is quickly establishing itself as one of the top inns in the Cotswolds. Recently completely refurbished with a brand new kitchen, our Head chef and team have sourced some fabulous local produce to place on our menus. We offer short frequently changing menus offering: game from local shoots, beef, lamb and pork all sourced locally and fish supplied from Devon and Cornwall by day boats.
We seek an ambitious and creative chef to add to our team, you will be able to work a section and maintain the highest standards of hygiene. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a passion for culinary excellence and leadership within a fast-paced hospitality environment. The role offers the chance to develop your skills further whilst contributing to a vibrant and customer-focused establishment.
Duties:- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficient utilisation of ingredients and adherence to recipes.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering supplies.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety standards and health regulations at all times.
- Support the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and innovation to meet customer expectations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in serving customers when required, delivering excellent hospitality service.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrable supervisory experience with strong team management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards.
