A building control and warranty provider are recruiting for a home-based Registered Building Inspector to oversee residential developments between Norwich and Bury St Edmunds. Basic salary circa £52,000 - £55,000, plus bonus, car, extended leave, with opportunities for progression including Class 2 B & D registration support.
Responsibilities
- Check plans for compliance with building regulations, structural warranty criteria, and associated guidance.
- Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed inspection records.
- Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates.
- Ensure inspections have been conducted with appropriate certification submitted, and that defects/non-conformities have been addressed prior to issuing final certificate.
- Operate in accordance with QMS procedures.
- Provide mentoring and support for trainee surveyors.
- Act as technical liaison internally and externally.
Requirements
- Registered Building Inspector - Class 2 A, B or D (or otherwise actively involved in the application process).
- Construction-based site experience.
- Experience of construction from foundation to completion.
- Understanding of structural warranty standards - desirable.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations, and related legislation, standards, and environmental concerns.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Problem-solving capability.
- IT literate.
