An established RBCA are currently recruiting for a self-sufficient Class 2 A / B Registered Building Inspector to oversee residential developments in Bury St Edmunds.

Building Inspector responsibilities:

  • Check plans for compliance with Building Regulations, structural warranty criteria, and associated guidance
  • Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed inspection records
  • Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates
  • Ensure inspections have been carried out, with appropriate certification submitted, and that defects/non-conformities have been addressed prior to issuing final certificate
  • Operate in accordance with QMS procedures
  • Provide mentoring and support for trainee surveyors
  • Attend client meetings as required

Building Inspector requirements:

  • Class 2A Registered Building Inspector (or actively engaged in the registration process)
  • Construction-based experience
  • Experience of residential developments from foundation to completion
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and environmental concerns
  • IT literate
