An established RBCA are currently recruiting for a self-sufficient Class 2 A / B Registered Building Inspector to oversee residential developments in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Building Inspector responsibilities:

  • Check plans for compliance with Building Regulations, structural warranty criteria, and associated guidance.
  • Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed inspection records.
  • Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates.
  • Ensure inspections have been carried out, with appropriate certification submitted, and that defects/non-conformities have been addressed prior to issuing final certificate.
  • Operate in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Provide mentoring and support for trainee surveyors.
  • Attend client meetings as required.

Building Inspector requirements:

  • Class 2A Registered Building Inspector (or actively engaged in the registration process).
  • Experience in construction.
  • Experience of residential developments from foundation to completion.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and environmental concerns.
  • IT literate.
