An established RBCA and Structural Warranty Provider are recruiting for a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector to oversee residential developments in Leicester. The site-based role involves a balanced workload featuring a variety of experienced developers and contractors from foundation to completion, with flexible working hours. Basic salary circa £50,000 - £55,000 plus competitive bonus, company car, extended annual leave, with opportunities for career progression.
Building Inspector Responsibilities
- Check plans for compliance with building regulations, structural warranty criteria, and associated guidance.
- Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed inspection records.
- Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates.
- Ensure inspections have been conducted with appropriate certification submitted, and that defects/non-conformities have been addressed prior to issuing final certificate.
- Operate in accordance with QMS procedures.
- Provide mentoring and support for trainee surveyors.
- Act as technical liaison internally and externally.
Building Inspector Requirements
- Registered Building Inspector - Class 2 A, B or D (or otherwise undergoing the registration process).
- Site-based experience of construction from foundation to completion.
- Understanding of structural warranty standards - desirable.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations, and related legislation, standards, and environmental concerns.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Problem-solving capability.
- IT literate.
