A national RBCA are currently seeking a Registered Building Inspector in relation to new-build developments between Northampton and Huntingdon. The home-based role is applicable to Class 2A or B Inspectors looking to specialise in construction from foundation to completion.
Building Inspector responsibilities:
- Check plans for compliance with Building Regulations, structural warranty criteria, and associated guidance.
- Undertake inspection of works and produce detailed inspection records.
- Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates.
- Ensure inspections have been carried out, with appropriate certification submitted, and that defects/non-conformities have been addressed prior to issuing final certificate.
- Operate in accordance with QMS procedures.
- Provide mentoring and support for trainee surveyors.
- Attend client meetings as required.
Building Inspector requirements:
- Class 2A / 2B / 2D Registered Building Inspector (or otherwise actively engaged in the registration process).
- Construction-based experience.
- Experience of residential developments from foundation to completion.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and environmental concerns.
- IT literate.
