Our Trainee Train Driver programme is your first step into an exceptional career. Through expert training and hands-on experience, you’ll learn the technical, safety and customer skills needed to become a qualified driver at GTS. We’re looking for people with calm judgement, attention to detail and a passion for service.

In order to be considered for this role you must be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Live within an hour of any advertised depot
  • Be able to pass a safety critical medical examination including eyesight, hearing, colour vision tests and drugs/alcohol screening
  • Be able to work a variety of shift patterns, including evenings and weekends
  • Have never held a train driver license
  • Be above the age of 20 and a half
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have not applied in the last 6 months to be a trainee driver at any railway company, including Elizabeth line
