We are private landlords managing a number of commercial properties throughout Clerkenwell, London, and we are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive property maintenance, helping to ensure our properties are maintained to a high standard and run smoothly.
We are looking for someone with practical experience across a range of trades, including decorating, painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work, repairs and lock changes.
Main Duties
- Visit properties to assess maintenance and repair requirements.
- Carry out maintenance and repair works from start to completion.
- Undertake a variety of tasks including decorating, painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work and changing locks.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance efficiently and to a high standard.
- Complete property inspections when required.
- Check fire alarms and ensure fire safety requirements are adhered to.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and representatives as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required administration in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate with tenants in a friendly, courteous and professional manner at all times.
- Respect tenants' spaces and maintain a professional approach when working in occupied properties.

- Experienced in property maintenance and multi-skilled across a range of trades.

- Able to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Professional, polite and respectful when dealing with tenants.
- Practical, hands-on and able to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Experienced in a similar property maintenance role.
Experience
Previous experience in a multi-skilled property maintenance, handyman, facilities or similar role is essential.
Experience in several of the following areas would be highly desirable:
Painting & decorating • Plumbing • Basic electrics • Repairs • Locks & security • General property maintenance
