Product Development Technologist

We are working on behalf of a high-growth food-to-go business to appoint a Product Technologist to support the development, launch, and technical integrity of a dynamic chilled product range.

The Role

Reporting into the Technical / Product team, you will play a key role in ensuring products are developed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards from concept through to launch.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing technical aspects of new product development and reformulation
• Creating and maintaining accurate product specifications and technical documentation
• Supporting factory trials, first productions, and product launches
• Working closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance and consistency
• Ensuring all products meet relevant food safety, legal, and customer requirements
• Supporting shelf-life testing, risk assessments, and quality investigations as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Product Technologist (or Development Technologist) within chilled food , ideally food-to-go
• Strong understanding of UK food safety legislation, labelling, and retailer standards
• Comfortable working at pace and managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and supply partners
• Detail-oriented, organised, and solutions-focused
