Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team at one of their key manufacturing sites.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the electrical integrity of the site's manufacturing operation, ensuring production equipment remains safe, reliable and operating at peak performance.
Working closely with production and engineering colleagues, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, diagnose electrical faults, support automation systems and contribute to continuous improvement projects that increase equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of manufacturing technologies and provides an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment across the manufacturing facility.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery, conveyors, motors, drives, control panels and automated equipment.
- Respond quickly to production breakdowns, ensuring downtime is minimised and root causes are identified.
- Support PLC-controlled production equipment, assisting with fault finding and basic diagnostics where required.
- Work with variable speed drives, sensors, relays, inverters and electrical control systems.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of new manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded using the site's CMMS maintenance system.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Operations and Quality teams to maximise equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and electrical compliance standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, energy efficiency and reducing unplanned downtime.
About You
We're looking for an electrically biased engineer with strong fault-finding skills and experience within a manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have
- A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills on industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Experience working with motors, drives, control panels, sensors and industrial electrical systems.
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, with the ability to undertake fault finding. Programming experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety and electrical compliance within an industrial setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to improving equipment reliability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
