The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring robust quality standards are in place and adhered to across our product portfolio. The role is responsible for implementing, maintaining and improving the quality system and imparting a culture of quality to support the continuous business growth ensuring the quality standards of finished products are achieved and continuously improved.

A key part of the role involves managing relationships with retailers, customers and accreditation bodies, ensuring successful audit and customer satisfaction. Close collaboration with internal functions, leading and development of the QA team, with 3 direct quality assistants reporting into the role.

  • Leads, motivates and coaches the technical team of 3 Quality Assistants in line with the Company Values to maximise employee engagement and ongoing development of the QA function.
  • Determines and agrees internal quality procedures, standards and specifications ensuring appropriate systems for inspection are developed and implemented.
  • Specifies quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers and internal parties and has overall responsibility in developing and implementing agreed specifications.
  • Works with operating staff to establish procedures, standards and verification systems.
  • Lead the investigation and root cause analysis of customer complaints data, ensuring corrective actions are implemented within the process or with packaging suppliers.
  • Understands, applies and maintains relevant standards and code of practices – ISO 9001, BRC, major customer standards and HACCP.
  • Direct involvement with BRC and customer audits/visits, and completion of all non-conformances/feedback requirements.

Skills and experience that will help you be a success:

  • Experience in a similar role within FMCG/manufacturing environment.
  • Proven team leader experience who can set objectives, performance manage a team and develop individuals to achieve their potential.
  • Accredited internal auditor/lead assessor with practical experience.
  • HACCP qualification.
  • Experience of implementing leading edge Quality strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, BRC standards, HACCP and GMP.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of packaging processes would be beneficial.
