We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Customer Experience Ambassador at our brand new Distillery in St Andrews. This is a brand new exciting opportunity to join our team at the new state of the art Distillery. This position encourages you to use your customer expertise and personality to guide customers through our new venue whilst educating them on our core range and providing reasons to believe in Eden Mill the brand.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiences: Lead customers through our gin and whisky core range, providing engaging and informative narratives that highlight the production processes, history, and unique qualities of each spirit.
- Educate customers: Share the story behind our different spirits, explain the production techniques, and answer any questions guests may have about gin and whisky.
- Provide exceptional customer service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, offering assistance, recommendations, and personalized attention throughout their experience.
- Promote and sell retail items: Showcase our range of spirits, merchandise, and other related products, explaining their features and benefits to customers. Encourage sales and upselling opportunities to maximize revenue.
- Manage inventory: Keep track of stock levels, ensuring retail items are well-stocked, neatly displayed, and organized. Perform regular inventory checks and inform management of any inventory needs.
- Operate the tour booking system: Utilize our booking software to schedule tours, manage bookings, and process payments efficiently. Ensure accuracy and reconcile sales at the end of each day.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation: Keep the experience area, retail space, and all customer areas clean and presentable at all times.
- Stay updated and informed: Continuously expand your knowledge of gin and whisky production methods, industry trends, and our specific products to enhance the product experiences and effectively answer customer queries.
- Assist with special events: Participate in special events and tastings, providing support as needed to ensure their success.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in tourism, retail, or hospitality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and connect with customers of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong sales acumen and ability to effectively promote and sell retail products.
- Familiarity with booking systems and proficiency in using digital tools.
- Organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and efficiently manage time.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine passion for providing exceptional customer experiences.
- Must be of 18 years and over due to legal requirement and capable of responsibly promoting and serving alcoholic beverages.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, as needed.
