We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, caring and energetic Seasonal Activity Leader to play an integral part in the success of our Holiday programme for our junior guests during the February Half-Term. The on target earning potential for this role is £15.34 per hour - comprising a base hourly rate of £12.84, plus a qualified estimate of £2.50 per hour in gratuities and service charge.
This is a flexible opportunity, starting Monday 22nd June to join the team and complete your training, with our holiday programme running from Saturday 4th July to Tuesday 2nd September inclusive, with a working pattern of 8:30am – 3:30pm. This programme runs 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday, so your flexibility is crucial in helping cover these days. You might have the opportunity to increase your working hours through involvement in other areas of Club Leisure. Our Children's Activity and Learning Manager will ensure you’re fully trained and ready to go! We also have programmes running over October Half-Term, February Half-Term, Easter, and May Half-Term - so you may have the opportunity to join us for these programmes too!
Here’s a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:
- Looking after our junior guests will be your number one priority; their safety and welfare is paramount whilst they’re having fun with us in an inclusive environment, creating magical memories.
- Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all our guests, putting parents/guardians at ease so they feel confident and comfortable leaving their children in our care.
- Collaborating with our Activity Instructors in leading groups of children through their scheduled activity programme with great communication with the Children’s Activity and Learning Manager.
- You’ll take the lead on elements of our Activity Programme, with full training provided; you’ll also be building the skills and experience to manage children’s behaviour in line with our Behaviour Management policy.
- Providing feedback to parents/guardians at the end of each day will be a key part of your role, with details on how their child interacted, what they enjoyed and the activities they took part in, providing great discussions for the full family over dinner!
- Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way.
The kind of person we’re looking for:
- You’ll have previous experience in a similar role and you’re passionate about working with and leading groups of children both in indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ideally you have a qualification in a sporting field or childcare, however this isn’t essential.
- Reliable, with a great eye for detail, you always ensure that you deliver the best care you possibly can.
- You have a flexible approach, able to adapt and succeed in a changing environment, think on your feet and have the ability to problem solve to meet the needs of the children and put their needs first at all times.
- Working with children can be exhausting, but your energy, positivity and patience are all second nature for you.
- You have a good understanding of the stages of child development and the challenges that may arise.
- Comfortable and confident working in a strong team centric environment, you’re naturally inclusive and collaborative.
- Highly motivated and possessing an immense sense of pride in your work; you’re passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand.
- You have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner.
