We are currently seeking a thoughtful, confident and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our Food & Beverage team. The on target earning potential for this role is £36,144 / annual salary - comprising a base salary of £27,844, plus a qualified estimate of £8,300 in gratuities and service charge.

- You’ll be sharing your genuine passion for Wines with our guests; whilst having the enthusiasm to keep building upon your knowledge.
- Advising and presenting each guest on selecting the perfect wine to pair with their chosen meal.
- You’ll take pride in serving wines at the correct temperature and in the appropriate glassware.
- Passionately sharing your knowledge with others through a strong coaching style to further improve the skills of your team around you.
- You’ll naturally share your excellent knowledge of the wider estate and the facilities available to our guests.
- Taking a keen interest in the operation and develop suggestions as to ways of increasing quality of service.
- You’ll proficiently up sell and encourage other team members to do the same at every opportunity.
- Delivering a warm and memorable dining experience for all our guests, whilst maintaining the highest standards of service, room preparation and presentation throughout the restaurant.
- Playing a significant part in making sure the dinner operation runs without a hitch, and our service is smooth.
- Attending to customer queries and enquiries in a caring and helpful manner and with a commitment to dealing with their issues in a positive way.
- Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way.
The kind of person we're looking for:
- You’ll have a strong working knowledge of fine-dining and quality service standards; WSET 1 is essential as a minimum, ideally having achieved your WSET 2.
- Having had experience within a luxury hospitality environment would be ideal, however having a great attitude and passion for wine is essential.
- Your perspective and approach are always fresh; no matter how many times an issue has been presented to you, to your guest it’s the first time.
- With a keen eye for detail, an organised approach and willingness to exceed guest expectation, you want to be the best and work with the best – learning from the experts in our team and sharing your knowledge with us.
- You have a high level of resilience and the ability to deal with fast-paced environments is essential.
- Highly motivated and possessing an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand.
- You have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner.
