Salary: Grade 3 £25,804 to £27,319 pro rata per annum (£14.18 to £15.01 per hour)
The Learning and Teaching Team are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and self-motivated students as consultants for a Staff Development project being undertaken as part of Scotland’s Tertiary Enhancement Programme. The Staff Development project aims to enhance the sector’s understanding of approaches to staff development and to identify the development needs of those who teach and / or support learning in the tertiary sector.
As Student Consultants you will be an integral part of the research project team and work alongside the Research Fellow to co-create and deliver a series of online and in-person student focus group discussions and subsequently create a “future educator” resource. The resource will provide students’ perspectives on the “future educator”, such as on the skills and attributes the future teacher will need and how they might teach and or support learning differently in the years ahead.
The successful candidates will have current experience studying at a Scottish tertiary education institution – one within higher education and one within further education; have supported projects/research activities; undertaken desk-based research and consultation work and have experience of report writing and presenting.
Both roles are 0.2 FTE (7 hours per week) fixed term until the 30th June 2027. Working hours are to be agreed with line manager at appointment. Some travel to other Scottish tertiary education institutions will be required.
