Our History

Established in 2012, we are an award-winning producer of single malt scotch whisky, gin, vodka, rum and blended malt scotch. Taking our name from the original Glasgow Distillery that was founded in 1770 and remained operative until the beginning of the 20th century, we’re a leading light in the new wave of distilleries in Scotland producing premium spirits with authenticity and transparency at their heart.

In 2018, we launched the award-winning Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This unpeated release was followed by a peated and a triple distilled expression – the three now form our Glasgow 1770 Signature Range and reflect the three styles of distillation that we craft each year. We also release a wide range of experimental and innovative small batch and single cask releases.

The distillery is also home to a full portfolio of premium brands, including; Makar Gin – Glasgow’s first-ever gin; Banditti Club Spiced Rum; G52 Botanical Vodka; and Malt Riot Blended Malt Scotch Whisky. All of our products are exported and enjoyed worldwide.
