The Glasgow Academy is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a School Mini-Bus Driver. This role involves transporting pupils to and from our campus each school day, ensuring a safe and friendly journey.

The School

The Glasgow Academy is a high-achieving co-educational independent day school for children aged 3-18. Founded in 1845, we pride ourselves on all-round education, first-class facilities, and exceptional opportunities for our pupils.

As the oldest continuously independent school in the West of Scotland, we are anything but old school. We have 1700 pupils in our care, and we work hard to provide them with a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Location and Hours

Location: The Glasgow Academy

Hours: Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only

Rate: £15 per hour | 4 hours per day (split between morning and evening)

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the school mini-bus on designated routes in the morning and afternoon
• Monitor and respond to messages in the designated WhatsApp group
• Ensure the safety and comfort of pupils during transport
• Perform vehicle checks and basic maintenance as needed
• Adhere to safeguarding procedures and support a safe environment for children

Requirements

• A full, clean D1 – UK driving licence
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in a similar driving or school transport role
• Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and working with children
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting school operations
