We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our History and Modern Studies department.
Candidate
- Holds an excellent honours degree; passionate about History/Modern Studies.
- Qualified to teach History/Modern Studies at PGDE/PGCE level.
- Skilled at motivating pupils and fostering independent learning.
- Strong communication, team‑building skills and pastoral experience as a tutor.
Responsibilities
- Be aware of current issues in teaching History/Modern Studies.
- Contribute to successful learning and teaching of pupils.
- Employ best practice teaching strategies.
- Use a range of assessment techniques, especially formative assessment.
- Liaise with Head of Department and undertake delegated duties.
- Participate in subject‑specific co‑curricular activities.
- Play a role in pastoral life as a tutor.
Appointment
- Part‑time (0.5) maternity cover contract starting August 2026.
- Salary includes premium above national pay levels; defined contribution pension.
- Must be registered with the General Teaching Council Scotland.
