The Gifted Consultants, an international recruitment and talent sourcing firm, is currently supporting a UK network recruitment partner in identifying suitable candidates for a Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer opportunity with their client.
These roles are based in Oxford and Cambridge and involve leading complex building services projects across sectors such as Science & Research, Healthcare, Commercial and other technically demanding environments.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in project delivery, client engagement and team development within a highly collaborative and technically driven engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead major mechanical engineering projects and manage client expectations throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Develop strategic design concepts and ensure designs meet project briefs, regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Take ownership of technical delivery, design quality and project outcomes.
- Represent the engineering discipline in client meetings, design team workshops and multidisciplinary coordination sessions.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and professional guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Support business development activities, including bids, proposals and client relationship building.
- Manage project budgets, monitor resources and report progress to senior leadership.
- Identify project risks and ensure efficient planning and delivery.
- Promote innovation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within engineering teams.
- Collaborate closely with architects, consultants and contractors to ensure coordinated project outcomes.
- Extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering within a building services or consultancy environment.
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems and mechanical building services design.
- Proven experience leading complex engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong client-facing experience and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
- Proficiency with engineering design software including Revit, AutoCAD and related tools.
- Strong understanding of British Standards and building services engineering regulations.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working toward chartership.
- Experience delivering projects in sectors such as Science & Research, Healthcare, Commercial or technically complex infrastructure environments.
- Competitive salary (£63,250 – £79,500).
- Additional £5,580 allowance.
