An excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary building services team delivering coordinated, technically robust mechanical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of complex projects.
Opportunities are available in Bristol, Cardiff and Cambridge, supporting regional and wider project delivery across commercial, residential, education, technology, science, research, healthcare and mixed-use developments.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality, coordinated mechanical designs across HVAC and associated systems, working closely within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery. The role requires someone comfortable managing their own workload, taking technical ownership of work packages or smaller projects, and maintaining consistent quality across multiple deadlines. You will engage with clients, attend meetings and site inspections, and contribute to technical excellence within a consultancy environment.
In Cambridge, the team is in a growth phase, offering exposure to high-performance buildings within the science, research and healthcare sectors, while Bristol and Cardiff support a broad regional project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed, coordinated mechanical design solutions across complex building projects
- Produce specifications, calculations, reports and technical documentation
- Develop HVAC and associated systems using digital design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD
- Attend client meetings, design team reviews and site inspections
- Manage individual tasks or smaller standalone projects
- Support multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure integrated engineering delivery
- Contribute to innovation, technical improvement and continuous development
- Maintain high standards of written and verbal communication
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions on complex MEP or building services projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- Experience within a consultancy and multi-disciplinary project environment
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and relevant design tools
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication skills with clients, stakeholders and internal teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality
- Collaborative, proactive and detail-focused approach
- Minimum 4–5 years in a building services consultancy
