Joining Upham Inns as a Designate General Manager is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Deputy General Managers or Assistant Managers to develop into high profile leadership roles. You will be given the chance to train in our diverse portfolio of sites in Southern England, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire, where every site is high energy and completely unique; each one is the heart of its community. With our fast-track programme, you could be managing your own site in 3 months.

Our Designate General Manager programme is designed for experienced managers working in a retail, service, customer-facing industry or non-branded pub environment. You'll need to be flexible, willing to travel and have the drive and determination to succeed.

About the Role:

  • Area Designate Managers are a key role and the steppingstone to quickly managing your own Pub.
  • Undertaking a structured development and training programme your aim will be to take on your first General Manager role.
  • With a strong commitment to the customers and the team you will be given extensive exposure to prepare you for your own pub.
  • To be considered for a Designate Manager role, previous management success is desirable; from a hospitality, retail or other fast-paced background and the right attitude and outlook is essential.

What do we do?

We own a collection of beautiful and individual premium pubs across Southern England. Our pubs are in idyllic settings in country villages and towns, where we are proud to be the quality local of the area, serving high quality fresh pub food in a cozy pub ambience. Most of our pubs have some Charming Bedrooms as well. New to our growing family is Harper’s Steakhouse, a new premium American Steakhouse brand that we started rolling out last year.

It’s an exciting time to join us! Upham Inns is growing, and we want you to grow with us and be part of our success. We’ve been busy investing in our business and we are seeing some great results. So, we want to continue to grow our pub family and we are looking to recruit passionate people into our team.
