“As a new graduate, I was searching for the perfect first job; a job that would allow me to lay a solid foundation from which to build on as I progressed through my career as a vet. The opportunity offered by The George has been exactly that. Within days of starting, I felt right at home, both supported and accepted by the entire team. I have learned more than I thought possible in my first few months as a vet, as the hospital is very busy and sees an incredible variety of cases. The programme itself is challenging, forcing you to step outside your comfort zone at times, but is never overwhelming, as you always have someone to call on for support; the mentorship is unmatched. I would recommend The George to anyone looking for their first opportunity as a vet!”
Andi Naude – New Graduate Programme 2023-24
“The George has been an amazing balance of case exposure and support for me. My VetGDP advisor, and indeed all the vets, provide a wealth of support day-to-day so that I can freely work up the cases I come across with plenty of guidance, as needed. Out of hours, I always have a back-up to call if required and the variety of emergency cases has given me a really strong foundation as a new graduate vet.”
