The Federation of Shepeau Stow Primary School and Gedney Hill Church of England Primary School are looking to appointa Learning Mentor25 hours per week, 39 weeks per yeartowork across the two schools.
The successful candidate will becommitted to helping children to succeed, have excellent communication skillsand be able to work using their own initiative and manage their own timetable.
Overview of the role of a Learning
Mentor
- Providingsupport to children in and out of the classroom.
- Assistingwith a range of SEMH and Behavioural needs.
- Providingchildren with the care and compassion they need to thrive in school.
- Liaisingwith parents and external agencies where suitable.
- Workingcollaboratively with the teacher and the wider school team to improve outcomesfor children.

- Arepassionate about supporting children.
- Areempathetic, nurturing and understanding of children's needs.

- Promote achild's development and learning (physical, emotional, educational and social)whilst fostering growth, self-esteem and independence.
- Designated Safeguarding Training is desirable, or the willingness to undertake thistraining
- Experienceimplementing Early Intervention Programmes
- Experiencesupporting families
- Act inaccordance with school policies and procedures and relevant legislation, particularly in relation to child protection, safeguarding, protectedcharacteristics and behaviour management.
Experience of working with SEND with SEMH needs is essential.
