The Gateway School is looking for a reliable, proactive Site Supervisor to help keep our school environment safe, secure, clean, and well maintained. If you're hands-on, highly organised, and take pride in maintaining buildings and grounds to a high standard, we want to hear from you.

The Gateway School specialises in teaching children with an Education and Health Care plan (EHCP) which identifies social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) as their primary need. They may also have other needs including cognition and learning, communication and independence. Some of these challenges arise from past experiences, which can result in many of our students displaying negative behaviours. We teach our pupils in classes of no more than 9 pupils (with a minimum adult to pupil ratio of 1:4). We may also teach pupils in pairs or on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance, minor repairs, and DIY
  • Oversee site security (locking/unlocking, alarms, CCTV)
  • Supervise cleaning staff and external contractors
  • Complete health & safety checks and maintain records (e.g. fire safety, legionella)
  • Maintain stock levels and manage deliveries
  • Keep online compliance system (Parago) up to date
  • Support safe vehicle use (minibus checks, fuel, legal compliance)
We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in site or facilities maintenance
  • Basic trade/DIY skills (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, decorating)
  • Understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
  • A team player with a flexible, solution-focused attitude
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student well being
