Shop Assistant at The Garlic Farm Shop
We now have an opportunity available for a Shop Assistant to join the retail team in our award-winning Garlic Farm Shop on a flexible basis. We expect approximately 2 days per week for the remainder of the summer season, until the end of October.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person who is well-presented with experience of working with people.
The job will involve till work, stocking up, enhancing the customer’s visit by being able to talk about products and answer questions, assisting with farm tours and general cleaning duties.
Salary: £13.45ph – we are a Living Wage Foundation Employer
Contract Type: Seasonal, minimum 2 days per week until end October
This opening is ideal for an all-rounder who will need to be happy to pitch in with the rest of the team and show flexibility to undertake any other duties or responsibilities as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Confident speaking to customers
- Keen to learn
- Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
- Ability to plan and prioritise different types of work
- Be able to maintain a calm and flexible attitude to work
- Be able to remain calm under high pressure
- Happy to assist with cleaning duties
- Willing to pick up extra work and cover holiday/sickness as required

Hours for this position will range and are likely be minimum 2 days per week, as communicated to you by the rota. Weekend work is to be expected.
