The Role

As a

Security Officer , you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, team members, visitors and hotel premises.

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing a welcoming and professional presence throughout the hotel.

You will work closely with the wider hotel team to identify and respond to security concerns, emergencies and incidents, whilst ensuring that hotel policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, visitors and hotel property.
  • Monitor CCTV and security systems and respond appropriately to any concerns or incidents.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the hotel, including guest areas, back-of-house areas and external areas.
  • Monitor access to the building and ensure only authorised individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, incidents and alarms.
  • Record and report all security incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with investigations, including reviewing CCTV footage and gathering relevant information when required.
  • Liaise with emergency services, including the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service when required.
  • Follow all hotel health and safety, fire safety and security procedures.
  • Assist with evacuation procedures and emergency response when necessary.
  • Monitor hotel events and busy periods to ensure the safety and security of everyone on site.
  • Challenge inappropriate behaviour professionally and appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information and incidents.
  • Complete all required security checks, logs and handover information.
  • Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is professional, observant, approachable and confident . You should be comfortable working independently while also being an effective member of the wider hotel team.

You will ideally have

  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a hotel, hospitality or similar environment.
  • A valid

SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence , where required for the duties of the role.

  • Excellent observation and communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and managing potential security risks.
  • The confidence to deal with challenging situations appropriately.
  • Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
  • A flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • A friendly and approachable manner when interacting with guests and colleagues.
