The Gannochy Trust is a registered charity founded in 1937 by Arthur Kinmond Bell (known as A K Bell) to manage and develop the housing estate he built in the Gannochy area of Perth, and to distribute surplus funds for the benefit of charities and other public causes in Perthshire. Our work today supports the full realisation of our founder's visionary philanthropy; we provide 282 houses for rent and distribute around £4.5 million in grants annually.
Due to the retirement of the current postholder, the Trust is seeking to recruit a practical and enthusiastic manager to oversee the efficient supervision and direction of the estate grounds team, currently 6 in number. The Trust's estate includes:
- Exemplar housing
- Quarrymill woodland park with areas of ancient woodland
- Doo'cot cricket ground with two full-size pitches
- Community greenspaces including a children's playpark, village green, orchard, and duck pond
- Various non-domestic buildings
- Tenanted farmland
The estate is well known for the exceptional standard of maintenance delivered by the grounds team. The role will be responsible for the effective maintenance and development of the community grounds, cricket pitches, communal gardens, playpark and woodlands to ensure the current high standards are maintained. You will also contribute to the overall effective operation of the Trust's estate service.
In return, we offer excellent terms and conditions including 36 days annual holiday (rising to 41 days), a company pension scheme with generous employer contribution, and health-related benefits, as well as training and development opportunities.
