My client is a well-established start-up based in London and the East coast of America looking to hire a User Experience Researcher. The role will cover their customers both in the UK and New York.

  • Lead generative, discovery research with fractional leaders — fractional C-suite, board advisors, and senior consultants — to build a deep understanding of how they work, the problems they own, and where today's tools fall short.
  • Own research end-to-end as our first researcher: scope the questions, recruit participants, run the interviews, synthesise, and turn raw conversations into decision-ready insights.
  • Anchor research around a major new product area we’re investing in — de-risking the bet before significant design and engineering effort, and surfacing adjacent opportunities along the way.
  • Partner closely with product managers, designers, and the founding team — embedding insights directly into roadmap decisions, design reviews, and company strategy rather than handing off reports.
  • Lay the foundations of a research practice — participant pipelines, a lightweight repository, and repeatable playbooks — so insights compound across projects instead of getting lost between them.
  • Translate findings into narratives that move decisions: sharp recommendations, clear artefacts, and a point of view the team can rally around.
