Assisting in day-to-day management of the Kitchen and ensuring operations are carried out smoothly and professionally in line with Head Chef's requests and company standards. Includes daily administration, regular communication with the Head/Sous Chef and Restaurant Manager, and taking charge of the kitchen and kitchen team when the Senior Chef is not present.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day kitchen management and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Follow Head Chef's instructions to maintain standards and daily operations.
  • Support and communicate regularly with the Head/Sous Chef and Restaurant Manager.
  • Be in charge of the kitchen, kitchen team, and daily orders when the Senior Chef is not present.
  • Manage stock levels efficiently and minimise wastage.
  • Communicate any equipment issues to the Head/Sous Chef.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation and hygiene standards are met.
  • Prepare dishes using the freshest ingredients to The Real Greek standard.
  • Report issues with food quality and freshness from suppliers or the central kitchen to the Head/Sous Chef and Restaurant Manager.
  • Follow stock labelling (DOT system) and FIFO rotation to ensure products are clearly labelled and used in the correct order.
  • Be aware of correct temperatures for deliveries, storage and cooking and record them on daily temperature log sheets.
  • Support Head/Sous Chef in implementing any menu changes.
  • Supervise the Kitchen Porter team and lead by example to keep the kitchen clean and presentable.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals are used correctly.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Kitchen experience essential; grill, prep, or chef de partie experience preferable.
  • Calm and able to work under pressure.
  • Able to communicate clearly and promptly.
  • Flexible with tasks and working hours.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
