The Director of Revenue will take strategic ownership of all revenue generating functions across the business. Including Sales, Account Management, and Marketing. This role is critical to aligning go-to-market efforts, driving sustainable growth, and improving customer lifetime value. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Revenue will lead the commercial strategy, build high-performing teams, and ensure the business is set up to scale. Brief Overview: Permanent Opportunity: Full Time Basic Salary: Negotiable Annual Bonus Structure: Negotiable % of base salary Location: Birmingham, B2 (Hybrid) Reports to: CEO Expectations The Director of Revenue is a senior leadership role responsible for driving commercial performance across the full customer lifecycle - from acquisition to retention. This role will unify Sales, Account Management, and Marketing under a single strategic vision, with a focus on: Sales Productivity: Improving conversion, velocity, and efficiency across the sales funnel. Customer Profitability: Maximising lifetime value through segmentation, retention, and upsell strategies. Asset Quality: Ensuring revenue streams are sustainable, scalable, and aligned to business risk appetite. The Director of Revenue will also be responsible for introducing a Revenue Operations (RevOps) framework to align people, processes, and platforms across go to market functions, and will champion Sales Enablement to ensure the team is equipped to succeed. Requirements Strategic Leadership Own and execute the commercial strategy across Sales, Account Management, and Marketing Align all revenue-generating functions to the company’s strategic pillars: Sales Productivity Customer Profitability Asset Quality Introduce and lead a RevOps structure to improve cross-functional alignment, forecasting, and performance tracking Sales & Account Management Oversee pipeline development, sales process optimisation, and performance management Support and mentor the Head of Sales & Growth, ensuring tactical execution aligns with strategic goals Drive customer retention, upsell, and profitability through Account Management best practices Grow fuel card volume and improve customer retention to increase recurring revenue Marketing & Demand Generation Lead the marketing strategy to generate qualified leads, build brand equity, and support sales enablement Ensure alignment between marketing campaigns and commercial objectives Sales Enablement & Operations Build and implement a Sales Enablement function to equip teams with tools, training, and content Introduce scalable processes and platforms to support growth and improve efficiency Forecasting & Budgeting Lead the forecasting and budgeting process for Sales, Account Management, and Marketing Set and monitor departmental targets, ensuring accountability and performance against plan Collaborate with Finance to ensure forecasts are accurate, data-driven, and aligned to business goals New Product Strategy Develop and execute sales strategies for new products and revenue streams Ensure go-to-market plans are commercially viable and aligned with customer needs Leadership & Collaboration Act as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Product to ensure commercial initiatives are viable and scalable To have the ability to contribute to The Fuel Store’s success, you will need: Experience: Proven track record in a senior commercial leadership role, ideally as a Director or Head of Sales/Marketing/Revenue or similar. 8+ years is advantageous or clear, demonstrable experience. Experience of managing a Telesales based environment. Experience leading cross-functional teams across Sales, Account Management, and Marketing Strong understanding of Revenue Operations (RevOps) and how to implement scalable GTM processes Demonstrated success in growing sales revenue, improving customer retention, and launching new revenue streams Background in B2B, fleet solutions, utilities, financial services, or SaaS is advantageous Key Competencies: Deep understanding of sales management fundamentals and modern selling techniquesSkilled in pipeline building, lead nurturing, and driving funnel efficiency. Experienced in implementing sales coaching, training, and enablement practices Strong grasp of database management and marketing automation platforms Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop talent Strong financial literacy, able to lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills Attributes Collaborative and cross-functional - able to work closely with Finance, Ops, and Product Comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels, High integrity, accountability, and resilience Growth-oriented and entrepreneurial, with a bias for action Benefits Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme: After 12 weeks of continuous employment, you will be automatically enrolled into our Pension Scheme.
