Overview
Title: Welder Fabricator - Permanent
Location: Hull
Hours: 7:30 - 4:30 Mon-Thurs / 7:30 - 12:30 Fri (Optional overtime when available)
Pay rate: £16.07 per hour (OT paid at time and a half)
Paid Weekly.
I am proud to be working on behalf of a small, friendly company in Hull who are experts in sheet metal fabrication and finishing. They provide customers with a \'one-stop-shop\' supporting them in the design of their products, fabrication and finishing all to a high-quality standard.
We are looking for a hard-working individual with experience for Cutting, shaping and joining metal components by interpreting drawings and applying welding and finishing techniques to a variety of metals including stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium.
Responsibilities
- Reading & Interpreting Designs: Accurately understand and follow technical drawings and diagrams to create precise components.
- Material Preparation: Prepare and select the appropriate materials and welding procedures for a given task.
- Metalworking: Cut, shape, and assemble metal pieces using hand tools and machinery to form new components.
- Welding: Join metal parts using various welding processes (e.g., TIG, MIG) and techniques to create strong, durable bonds.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed welds and components using precision instruments, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain welding and metalworking equipment and machinery.
- Safety: Adhere to strict safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe work environment.
- Finishing: Smooth and polish metal surfaces after welding to achieve a good finish and remove any excess material.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Welding Techniques: Proficiency in various welding processes (TIG, MIG).
- Metalworking Tools: Experience with hand and power tools for cutting, grinding, and shaping metal.
- Technical Drawing Knowledge: Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
