Senior Laboratory Research Scientist – Tumour and Host Metabolism Laboratory

This is a one-year fixed term position on Crick terms and conditions of employment.

About the role
A Senior Laboratory Research Scientist position is available to join the Tumour and Host Metabolism Laboratory for one year, to provide support for on-going grant funded projects exploring the role of stromal cells in controlling cancer metastasis. This post will be an exciting opportunity to be part of a research group that investigates how metabolism affects tumour development using various in vitro and in vivo techniques. Projects in the laboratory are highly interdisciplinary and the successful candidate will be exposed to a broad range of cutting-edge in vitro and in vivo approaches in cancer research, becoming an integral member of the team.
About you
The post holder should embody and demonstrate our core Crick values: bold, imaginative, open, dynamic and collegial, in addition to the following:
- PhD in the area of cancer biology or metabolism (or equivalent experience)
- Expertise in cell and molecular biology
- Track record of writing papers as evidenced by publications or submitted manuscripts in refereed journals
- Evidence of data presentation at scientific meetings
- Experience of experimental design
- Ability to work independently and also capable of interacting within a group
- Metabolic pathway analysis
- Analysis of systemic metabolism in mice
- Cancer models and the analysis of tumour/host interactions
- Technical metabolomic analysis
