The Crick is a place for collaboration, innovation and exploration across many disciplines. We support them in a dynamic environment which fosters excellence with state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, cutting‑edge facilities, and a creative and curious culture.

About the role:

We are looking for a resilient HR Systems Analyst who is eager to learn and develop their career in HR systems. Joining us on a 12 month fixed‑term contract (maternity cover), you will become part of a collaborative team responsible for supporting and developing our Workday HR system. Whilst previous experience of Workday would be advantageous, it is not essential. What is more important is a genuine interest in HR systems, strong attention to detail, and a desire to learn how technology can improve HR processes and services.

Working closely with colleagues across HR, Finance and IT, you will gain hands on experience in HR systems administration, data management, reporting, testing and process improvement. You will help maintain accurate employee data, support system configuration activities, assist with troubleshooting and testing, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the user experience for managers and employees.

This role would be ideal for someone currently working in HR, or in a similar role in another field who enjoys working with systems, data and processes, has a good foundation of HR knowledge, and is looking to take the next step towards a specialist career in HR systems.

What you will be doing:

  • Workday System Administration and Support: Provide day‑to‑day support for the Workday HCM platform, responding to queries and resolving issues raised by People team colleagues, end users and managers. Support the maintenance of Workday business processes, organisational structures, supervisory organisations, scheduled processes and delegations.
  • HR Data Management and Reporting: Support the accuracy, integrity and consistency of worker data within Workday. Run regular data audits and validation checks, identifying discrepancies and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
  • HR Process Improvement: Work with HR teams to understand existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through Workday. Contribute to projects involving new Workday functionality, HR technology enhancements and process standardisation.
  • Stakeholder Support and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams and external support partners where required to resolve issues and deliver improvements.

About you:

  • Relevant experience in Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) configuration across Human Capital Management (HCM).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, high‑quality data communication skills and good attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of HR best practice and core HR processes such as employee lifecycle management.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Confidence using Excel and working with data, spreadsheets and reports.
  • Experience in reporting and analysing People data using Excel and/or other data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting Workday HCM modules or business processes, such as Core HCM, Absence, Talent, Recruiting, Learning or Compensation (desirable).

What will you receive?

  • Generous Leave: 28 days of annual leave, plus three additional days over Christmas and bank holidays.
  • Pension Scheme: Defined contribution pension with employer contributions of up to 16%.
  • Health & Well-being: 24/7 GP consultation services, occupational health services and mental health support programs, eye care vouchers and discounted healthcare plans.
  • Work-Life Balance: Back‑up care for dependents, childcare support allowance, annual leave purchase options, Crick Networks offering diverse groups’ support, community and inclusive social events.
  • Perks: Discounted gym memberships, bike‑to‑work scheme, and shopping discounts, subsidised on‑site restaurant and social spaces for team interaction.

Please note you must meet the essential criteria listed within the Role Profile, to have your application reviewed. We reserve the right to withdraw this advert at any given time due to the number of applications received.
