We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing security team. You will assist in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats while learning from experienced professionals.
About the role
You will be joining a growing Crick Cyber Security Team. The Cyber Security team ensures the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Crick data and systems and works with other ITO teams and stakeholders across the institution.
Key responsibilities
- Operational responsibility for the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Crick Systems and Data.
- Monitor security alerts and assist in triaging incidents using security tools and systems (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, firewalls).
- Help identify and report potential vulnerabilities and threats in systems and networks.
- Assist with incident response tasks, such as documenting events and escalating issues to senior team members.
- Support daily operations including log analysis, endpoint protection, and access control reviews.
Qualifications and experience
- Basic understanding of end‑user device architecture and lifecycle (design, implementation, transition to service, maintenance, and retirement).
- Knowledge of automating system administration tasks through use of locally‑developed scripts and/or integration with other administration tools.
- Previous experience effectively maintaining and developing IT documentation.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security tools.
- Familiarity with key cyber‑security principles, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
