The EDI Team is responsible for progressing delivery of the Crick’s Inclusion Strategy and EDI projects and developing a Crick culture, where everyone can thrive. As the leading biomedical research institute in the UK, the Crick has a strong platform to demonstrate leadership on EDI and research culture in UK science.
This is an exciting time to join the Crick, as Professor Edith Heard joins us as CEO, and we launch our new People Strategy and our refreshed Inclusion Strategy.
We are seeking a coordinator with a strong interest in EDI to join our growing EDI team. You will work closely with our staff equality networks, organise EDI events and activities and provide excellent administration for our EDI committees, working groups and training activities.
You will contribute to design and implementation of EDI activities and projects and evaluate the impact of these on Crick community.

What you will be doing
As an EDI Coordinator at the Crick, you will:
- Provide support to Crick staff EDI networks (disability awareness, race equity and LGBT+), attending their meetings regularly, supporting development and delivery of annual plans and budgets
- Work with the Communications Team to deliver a tailored EDI communications plan for internal and external audiences. Update the EDI-related intranet pages and key messages regularly
- Undertake committee administration for EDI committees and working groups
- Organise EDI events and activities to mark equality awareness days including identifying speakers, planning communications and making practical arrangements related to events
- Work with colleagues and stakeholders to help implement the Inclusion Strategy and Athena Swan action plans
- Contribute to charter mark applications (e.g. Athena Swan, Race Equality charter)
About you
You will have:
- Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of prior commitment to, engagement with or coordination of EDI projects or activities
- Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise in the face of competing demands and proven success in delivering work within tight deadlines
- Experience of supporting the delivery of events
- Ability to work pro-actively, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, and collaboratively as part of a team
