About the role
This is an exciting time to join the Crick, as Professor Edith Heard joins us as CEO, and we launch our new People Strategy and refreshed Inclusion Strategy. The EDI Team is responsible for progressing delivery of the Crick’s Inclusion Strategy and EDI projects and developing a Crick culture where everyone can thrive. As the leading biomedical research institute in the UK, the Crick has a strong platform to demonstrate leadership on EDI and research culture in UK science. If you are looking to develop your career in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, this could be a great time to join as an EDI Advisor. You will lead on a variety of projects, work with stakeholders across the organisation, and deliver on the Inclusion Strategy and Athena Swan action plans. You will manage projects related to embedding EDI considerations in Crick activities, contribute to the full EDI programme (event and training design, equality impact assessments, and evidence-based progress evaluation).
What you will be doing:
- Project management of the Inclusion Strategy and Athena Swan action plans
- Work on charter mark applications and implementation (e.g. Athena Swan)
- Undertake EDI projects and initiatives to address inequities in Crick career paths and to create a positive culture for all
- Support teams across the Crick to implement the Inclusion Strategy and related projects and programmes, helping to ensure joined-up delivery across the organisation
- Analyse EDI data from staff and student populations to identify issues, drive change and evaluate impact
- Analyse staff survey results by equality characteristics, identify issues and propose new actions as appropriate
About you
You will have:
- Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of EDI related legislation
- Experience of implementing equality, diversity and inclusion activities or culture change projects within a large and complex organisation
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative data presentation and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to identify EDI issues and evaluate impact of activities
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Experience in delivering and organising events for a variety of audiences
