About the role… We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaged Reporting Solutions Analyst to join the Data Management & Analytics Platform team. If you have a degree in Business or Data Analytics, or work-related experience, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. You will be responsible for Power BI report development, SQL development, additionally supporting colleagues in these areas. You will also be responsible for gathering all the necessary information and requirements for projects and will be the point of contact and liaison between the team and those working on the projects. This role will also require you to be agile, accommodating to changes and changing requirements of the projects and role. You will be able to engage with colleagues across various departments and be able to foster positive relationships with various stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative work environment. There are excessive learning opportunities within this role and you will be working in a diversely skilled team, with opportunities to tap into the wider team’s expertise across the whole department. We have a very diverse set of data at the Crick, with various requirements and opportunities to learn and develop and understand the environment in which we work. Working at the Crick and within the Data Management & Analytics Platform team will give you the opportunity to work with heterogeneous and diverse data sets and work with datasets that may not be available elsewhere. At the Crick we believe in science without boundaries, and we encourage trying new ways of working; there will be scope in this role to develop in this aspect.
What you will be doing… As a Reporting Solutions Analyst at the Crick, you will:
- Undertake solution design and engineering using Power Platform components (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Liaising directly with colleagues from across the organisation to gather and refine requirements.
- Engineer measures and KPIs in Microsoft DAX in support of needs.
- Support the Power platform user community as it develops within the Crick.
- Contribute to Power Apps decision boards and implementing the governance and control methods designed by this role and the wider PowerApps teams.
- Support the licensing of Power Platform components across the Crick – tracking usage, approving licenses (assigned by sys admins), gatekeeping Active Directory groups associated with these technologies.
- Clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting, ensuring quality data assurance.
About you… You will bring…
- An undergraduate degree in Business or Data Analytics, or non-degree equivalent experience considered.
- Experience of or Microsoft accreditation in Power BI and Power Platform components.
- Software solution engineering using Power Platform components and SQL for data read/write from data sources.
- Evidence of operational systems deployed and maintained.
- Experience extracting data from various sources such as Microsoft SQL Server and APIs.
- Experience of building PowerBI reporting solutions (desktop and web versions) including PowerBI DAX skills.
