Overview

We are seeking a professional, highly organised Finance Assistant to join the team at Frances Bardsley Academy & The Bridge. In this vital role, you will support both the Finance Officer and the Hub Operations Manager as a key member of the Finance and Operations Team for our Havering Secondary Hub. Reporting directly to the Finance Officer, you will play an important part in ensuring the smooth financial running of the schools. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical skills and a friendly, approachable manner to contribute to a supportive and dynamic school community.

  • Process purchase orders for the school - obtaining the \"best value\" quotations and availability where appropriate.
  • Place orders via the company\'s online portals.
  • Identify and notify incoming deliveries for the school.
  • Update computerised records for Goods Received Notes.
  • Deal with any returns and damaged goods.
  • Chase up on back orders and undelivered services (Review the \'Current Commitment\' report throughout the month to ensure everything is being captured for month-end).
  • Process Non-Order invoices and obtain the relevant budget holder approval.
  • Obtain quotes for school trips and reflect travel, student data entry, and run trip reports for trip leads.
  • Assist the Finance Officer and Hub Operations Manager with general duties.

About the role

The successful candidate will be based at Frances Bardsley Academy and become part of an oversubscribed, flourishing school for girls aged 11 to 18, with confident, courteous, articulate students and an ethos in empowerment.

Working arrangements and benefits

  • Part-time, 16 hours per week, 4 days a week
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday working 10 am - 2 pm
  • 38 weeks per year, Term-time working
  • Scale 2.3 to 2.4 £28,617 to £29,025 Annually (FTE)
  • Actual Salary £10,660 to £10,812 (as 37.25% FTE)
