We are expanding and are looking for a Financial Stock Control Assistant to join the team and be part of a growing and vibrant brand.

The role: We are looking for a Head Office (Finance department based) Stock Control Assistant to support the Stock Controller and Loss Prevention Team in achieving their key deliverables:

  • Ensure company stock is valued according to accounting principles.
  • Maintain accuracy of stock units on multiple company systems.
  • Minimise stock and cash loss across the estate.

This is a hands-on multi-skilled role in a fast-paced and results-driven organisation. It would suit someone who has excellent communication skills, is highly organised and works methodically, with a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn. You will be a candidate who is self-motivated, conscientious and able to work under your own initiative, as well as part of a team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Stock Takes: Assist with the store stocktake process and liaising with associated 3rd parties. Processing results, variance analysis, reporting and resulting actions. Manage store communication, queries and documentation. Assist with the Warehouse stocktake and system reconciliation.
  • Stock Systems & Procedures: Gain full understanding of the Head Office, Store and Warehouse stock systems. Understand, update and distribute store stock procedures. Review and action store and warehouse stock adjustments. Assist with store and supplier returns processing and store closure procedures. Complete warehouse and head office financial stock system reconciliations. Deal with daily store and company stock queries. Manage online order issues and cancellations. Collate and review weekly store stock counts, to drive loss prevention investigations. Analyse and monitor store refund compliance. Analyse and monitor store tester request levels. Manage procurement of store security equipment. Manage and review Security Guard rotas and invoice reconciliation. Assist with insurance claim documentation for thefts and damages. Liaise with external loss prevention agency and be a key team member in this regard.
  • Reporting & Accounting Processes: Assist with producing and reviewing month end and year-end accounts information. Provide support for year-end audit information requests.
  • Ad hoc: Provide support for Stock Control and Loss Prevention where required. Provide support with new system installation and system upgrade testing.

What you’ll bring:

  • Good working knowledge of Excel & MS Office.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organised and methodical with an excellent eye for detail.
  • A proactive and inquisitive nature, with a willingness to learn.
  • Retail and Loss Prevention experience.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a Finance function or similar.
