Social Media & Influencer Lead (Interim) – The Fragrance Shop

We are seeking an ambitious and creative Social Media & Influencer Lead to shape the future of The Fragrance Shop’s social presence. This interim role blends content leadership, influencer/creator partnerships, and team management to bring brand storytelling, cultural relevance, and data-driven insight to life.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the social & influencer strategy: Define and execute an innovative approach across organic and boosted channels: Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, X (and beyond).
  • Champion content excellence: Own the content vision, ensuring everything produced is high-quality, scroll-stopping, and aligned with brand storytelling goals.
  • Put creators at the heart: Build and nurture long-term relationships with creators and influencers, making them a central pillar of our social strategy. Ensure partnerships feel authentic, on-brand and drive commercial and cultural impact.
  • Manage and inspire a team of experts: Lead social channel specialists and influencer managers, ensuring clarity of roles, growth opportunities and future-proofed structures.
  • Shape cross-channel narratives: Partner with CRM, Creative, PR, Campaigns, B&M, and Retail teams to tell a consistent and differentiated brand story across every customer touchpoint.
  • Drive conversations & community: Lead the team in creating two-way engagement and creator-led dialogue, leveraging the right tools and platforms to respond in real-time to trends and consumer needs.
  • Boosted & performance alignment: Collaborate with the Performance Marketing team to integrate paid and organic strategies, maximising reach, ROI and measurable brand outcomes.
  • Set best practice & governance: Implement clear content and influencer guidelines, workflows, and tone-of-voice standards to ensure quality and consistency across all stakeholders.
  • Analyse & optimise: Deliver reporting that tracks reach, engagement, share of voice, influencer impact, and ROI, spotting white space and growth opportunities for the brand.
  • Deliver partner commitments: Work with brand partners and the trade team to ensure agreed content and influencer activity is creatively executed, tracked and reported.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Digital, PR, Journalism or related) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in social media, content, or influencer marketing, with a proven track record of building brand presence and communities across multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams of channel experts and driving creator/influencer marketing as a core channel.
  • A strong creative mindset with the ability to brief, evaluate, and push content to be innovative, culturally relevant, and scroll-stopping.
  • Commercial acumen and experience linking content and influencer strategies to measurable outcomes (brand growth, engagement, ROI).
  • Excellent relationship-building skills – internally, with creators, and with brand partners
