Trade Counter / Shop Manager Required - Roofing & Construction Supplies

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, professional, and customer-focused Trade Counter / Shop Manager to join a busy and well-established roofing company, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and experience within a trade, builders merchants, or construction supplies environment who is looking to take ownership of a busy branch and play a key role in its day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the trade shop, managing customer relationships, supporting the wider team, and ensuring excellent service is delivered at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the trade counter and shop
  • Serving and assisting customers with orders and enquiries
  • Delivering excellent customer service both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Supporting stock control and organisation within the branch
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Working closely with the wider team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Assisting with sales and helping to drive business within the branch

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a builders merchants, roofing supplies, trade counter, or similar management role is preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to manage workload within a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership or supervisory experience would be highly advantageous
  • Construction or roofing knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential for the right person

Details

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Working Hours: 7:00am - 4:30pm
